I saw "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" performed at the Celebration Theater in Los Angeles a few years ago. Luckily, I was able to sit in the first row in the center. Hedwig used my face to straddle and do the "Car Wash." What a memorable night!

Re: It's a car wash!
Sun, May 25, 2008 - 9:59 PMWho was performing as Hedwig?
When I saw it live in SF, the whole audience literally cringed when Kevin Cahoon came out to do the "car wash". He actually said, "You all look terrified," and I think it was true! None of my party wanted to sit on the aisle seat... we had a little struggle about that. If it had been JCM, I probably would have volunteered...

Re: It's a car wash!
Wed, May 28, 2008 - 8:26 AMWe saw a performance at a bar in Raleigh, NC by the Contemporary Theater Company, twice, and were in different parts of the bar each time, and BOTH times the performer came up to my boyfriend during "Sugar Daddy". I don't remember the performer doing the "car wash" bit, mainly because it was in a bar, so not so many people seated. Still, he's got good taste, picking my bf. :)
